Hyper-Converged Networking

Hyper-Converged Networking

HCI (hype consolidated infrastructure) is a scale-out software-integrated infrastructure that uses a modular approach to compute, network, and storage on common hardware, with unified management. HCI providers can either construct their appliances utilizing off-the-shelf infrastructure (hardware, virtualization, and operating system) or work with system vendors to package their software stack as an appliance. Alternatively, HCI suppliers sell their software directly to end customers, via resellers and integrators, for use as part of a reference architecture or as HCI-as-a-service, on-premises, or in the cloud.
